Company Profile
Korman Construction Ltd. was established in 1990 to provide construction and construction management services within North Cyprus. Following its establishment, in a short period of time, with its experienced technical and management team it took its place among one of the biggest construction companies in the region. Its dynamic and open management style has helped to create confidence and trust in its clients, architects, and consultants. Korman Construction has been granted a Certificate of First Class for Building and Infrastructure Works. The company can undertake any kind and size of project using various methods, such as: tendering, projects or ‘cost plus’ systems. AutoCAD computer systems are used widely by experienced staff in project design.
A number of companies belonging to the same group provide specialized services and/or materials. Cyprus Pools Ltd. is a company specializing in designing and building all kinds of structures related to swimming pools, water treatment, and sewerage treatment plants. Korman have recently established a company to provide a variety of building supplies, including water and damp-proofing materials, sound insulation products and others.
Each project, regardless of its size, receives the same meticulous attention from start to finish. Clients’ interests are well protected under the company’s usual project control and management systems. Monthly progress reports are produced to inform all interested parties about the project including progress, problems, cost, and material status. Quality and cost controls are achieved through use of the latest state of the art hardware, equipment, and systems. Sample and mock-up rooms are used to ensure correct and satisfactory results. Detailed works programme using CPM are used to achieve timely completion of the project. Comprehensive snagging and commissioning check lists are used to ensure that work is thoroughly checked before it is handed over to the client. Safe and efficient temporary facilities are provided on sites to the personnel and workforce in order to improve their working standards thus ensuring product quality. Each project is run by its own site management team with technical, administrative and logistic support from the main head office. Material control is maintained throughout the project period as part of the quality control process.
Human Resources
Experienced personnel have helped to provide Korman Construction with a high quality of workmanship, cost and time efficiency which resulted in gaining a reputation of reliability and quality. Most of the 36 architects, engineers, technicians, and administrative personnel have had work experience in their fields abroad. More than 185 skilled and semi-skilled personnel on the payroll have wide experience in all aspects of building construction in their respective fields. Activities requiring expertise are undertaken by well experienced subcontractors under strict control.
Plant & Equipment
There is no plant hire system in North Cyprus. Therefore all plant and equipment necessary to carry out company operations is owned by the company. A well equipped repair and maintenance shop ensures that plant and equipment is safe to use and is in good working order.
